MISSION STATEMENT

Dedicated and compassionate professionals providing life safety through education, emergency response and community involvement to anyone, anytime.
FIRE FIGHTING

The Pinetop Fire District consists of full-time and reserve personnel who work hand in hand answering any emergency call that may arise. The firefighters go through extensive training to make sure they are prepared to handle any emergency.

The District has fought many different types of fires that range from someone leaving food in a pot burning on the stove while cooking, to a fully involved structure fires that has taken many hours to control.

Members of the fire district are also cross trained to fight wildland fires due to our district being in the heavily forested Sitgreaves National Forest area of Arizona's White Mountains know as a wildland urban intermix.

WILDLAND FIRE FIGHTING

Pinetop Fire District is at the forefront of wildland firefighting.  Due to our District bordering the Apache-Sitgreaves Forest and Fort Apache Indian Reservation Forest, our personnel are wildland certified and recertify annually.

The team has fought over 45 different wildfires annually, provides hundreds of wildfire resources, and participates in a significant number of prescribed burns annually to reduce risks.  Our wildfire mitigation work and rapid wildfire response will give our White Mountain communities a fighting chance when the next wildfire happens.

We have members that serve on national and local Incident Management Teams at all levels.  Our members have additional urban interface training to better fight wildland fires in our area.

EMS

Emergency medical care is a major part of our district.

The Pinetop Fire District responds to approximately more than 2,000 calls a year for service – 70% of which are for emergency medical services.  Our personnel are all either Arizona State Certified EMTs (Emergency Medical Technicians) or CEPs (Certified Emergency Paramedics).  We currently operate two ALS (Advanced Life Support) equipped Rescues (ambulances) and we also have two ALS equipped Engines.

Our personnel attend regular trainings to stay proficient with all skills and learn the newest medical information. In fact, several district paramedics participated in a critical care paramedic program to provide higher levels of care during critical transport. We provide our customers with the finest ALS care that can be offered 24 hours a day using the best and latest equipment.
